Artist Bio

Deborah Wilson Bellingham

I’ve known I was a sculptor since the age of 13 when I first took a lump of clay and experienced the joy of creation. Living abroad for many decades with my four children in South America, Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia and later by myself in Japan, my artistic spirit grew. Many decades later I was able to develop that skill at Glassell School of Art/Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Thus began my total immersion in sculpting and silversmithing. My education continued at the University of St. Thomas Houston and LSU Baton Rouge where I studied under Chris Hentz.

The ability to translate pure emotion, concepts or subjects into tangible expressions in metal, clay or wax is still to me a miracle. Each design is inspired … literally.
